JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role


As the Collins Submarine Program Business Services Manager you will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex contract, procedural, operational, administrative and business outcomes within an integrated workforce. You will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.


The Business Services Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence and be accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes. You will manage one or more teams. You will develop and implement work plans, set performance indicators, and review individual, team and business performance, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement. You will set work that aligns with the Collins Submarine Program strategic objectives and communicate expected outcomes.


About our Team


The Collins Submarine Program within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.

We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated Contract and Business (Security, Governance and Corporate Services) management experience. You will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships. You will respond to complex enquiries and contract management issues whilst taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action to ensure resolution and achievement of effective outcomes.


You will engage in complex problem solving and may coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence. You will have outstanding time management, attention to detail skills and the ability to action tasks within tight deadlines.


You will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and the professional development of your team.


This position has significant people management responsibilities and as such you will be required to exercise your outstanding people management skills and experience to lead a high performing, diverse and cohesive team.
