About the role

As the Project Quality Lead with RDA, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of assigned projects comply with our contractual, customer-specific, project related and inter-company quality requirements and that appropriate processes are used in line with these directives.

In this role, you will lead the development of tools and appropriate methods to support RDA’s quality initiatives while deriving essential test points and criteria along the way, to ensure compliance.

As the Project Quality Lead, some of your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Provide expert level quality management support services to enable effective decision making and the delivery of sound quality business outcomes;
  • Mentor and guide Project Managers and Senior Project staff in the effective use of quality management systems and tools;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a business management system;
  • Conduct and prepare quality reports around quality performance, KPI’s, risks and quality compliance;
  • Evaluate customer requirements and define project quality requirements to meet customer expectations;
  • Create, maintain, review and release project documents that integrate within the RDA business management system;
  • Provide quality assurance support to the Engineering team, engaging in verification activities;
  • Develop and maintain product specific quality plans, inspection and contract plans, test & inspection plans as required;
  • Conduct inspections and audits;
  • Define and manage overall measures for quality improvement;
  • Be an active member of the Change Control Board; and
  • Planning, coordination and conduction of acceptance tests (FAT/SAT).

What are we looking for?

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quality or Engineering, (Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science); and / or;
  • Recognised formal training in Quality (CQE, Diploma, Advanced Diploma);
  • Previous experience using advanced quality tools and techniques;
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position, ideally within defence or automotive industry;
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9000 and NATO Allied Quality Assurance Publications;
  • Good IT knowledge (particularly of SAP QM);
  • An ability to demonstrate soft skills including a high levels of independence, the ability to communicate complex ideas to a diverse audience, and conflict management and resolution;
  • Sound computer literacy skills; and
  • German language skills advantageous however not essential.
  • Be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening.
