Duties The RAAF Unit Histories Administrator position is within the Directorate of History Services - Air Force (DHS-AF), and is located at Fairbairn in Canberra. This is an important APS 3 position, in a small team of only three - the other members are a RAAF Squadron Leader Reservist and an APS 4 member. The advertised position is primarily responsible for ensuring that monthly Unit History Records are received from all RAAF Units, and then appropriately archived in the Objective Record Management System. Accordingly, the successful candidate should have an interest in the preservation of historical RAAF records, and have good written and oral communications skills to enable effective liaison with senior officers at RAAF Units, and also external agencies such as the National Archives of Australia. This is a very challenging but very rewarding position, and one that has the ability to positively influence the creation, collation and archiving of historical RAAF records for use by current and future researchers - both internal and external to RAAF. Transfer of Knowledge - The successful applicant must be available to undertake a transfer of knowledge from the current incumbent at the Directorate of History Services - Air Force over the period 02 - 13 December 2019 inclusive.
